Seme COM Dungeon: Drururuaga (攻めCOMダンジョン ドルルルアーガ Seme Komi Danjon Dorururuāga) is a game released for Game Boy Color on December 15, 2000 only in Japan. The game takes place 100 years after the events from The Tower of Druaga.

Gameplay[]

Both the player and the opponent have their own dungeon, each containing three important room types: the Jewel Room, the Warp Room(s) (amount varies depending of dungeon), and three normal rooms with a key in each one. The Warp Room allows the players to travel between the two dungeons. The Jewel Room is the starting point, where the Jewel Card is kept locked by a door with three locks. Each key will be set randomly in three of the normal rooms. The player must enter the opponent's dungeon by using a Warp Room and search for the opponent's three keys. After collecting all keys, the door in the opponent's Jewel Room will open. The first to obtain the opponent's Jewel Card wins. If a player is killed, he will lose equipment cards that were in use and drop one of his cards next to where he died. After some turns the player will revive in his Jewel Room with 0 MP.

Before starting the match, each player can use the mini map to prepare their defense by placing up to two creature cards from their deck in each room from their dungeon without using MP. Each player starts in their Jewel Room with 50 MP, with additional MP for remaining deck power not used in the deck, and gain 1 MP per turn. MP is used to pay the cost of Spell Cards to use them, allowing the player to summon more creatures, and use equipments and consumable items. Each room can hold up to eight cards from the players, including equipments given to creatures and the Jewel Card.

Note that in the story the dungeons from bosses have preset creatures, with many rooms having more than two creatures from the beginning, and a few rooms will have cards that can be taken and used by the player without paying their cost.

Spell Cards

Main article: Spell Card

There are four types of Spell Cards: Creature cards are the characters that assist the summoner, which includes knights, magicians, priests, slimes, undeads, animals and others. Equipment Item cards are cards that can be equipped by the player and in creatures, which are divided into weapons, armors and accessories. Consumable Item cards are cards used only once per match, which include potions and books. The Jewel Card contains a set amount of Deck Power to build the deck and will be in the player's Jewel Room during matches.

Deck[]

The deck can be formed with a maximum of 55 Spell Cards, one of which must be a Jewel Card, and additional Jewel Cards are not allowed. Each Spell Card has a cost to be added in the deck, and the cards total cost must not pass the Jewel Card's deck power. There can be only four of the same card in the deck.

In the beginning of the game, the player can choose one of eight available decks, which are named after the deities Anu, Ishtar, Ramman, Girru, Nergal, Humbaba, Nabu, and Nannaru. All decks begin with the Jewel Card Crystal Orb, with deck power of 160. Additional cards are obtained by completing stages. The player can edit and save up to 16 deck builds.

Stages[]

The world map is divided into nine areas, each with stages protects by a boss. All stages have a limit of 1000 turns to be cleared, and except for rotating the position while on the same square, each move counts as a turn. When Gilsh completes a stage, he gains four Spell Cards, alongside one extra card as a bonus depending of his performance:

  • Survival Bonus: Gilsh completed the stage without dying.
  • Perfect Bonus: The boss was unable to take a key in Gilsh's dungeon.
  • Brave Bonus: Cleared using a Jewel Card with a rank lower than the opponent's.

The cards obtained are the same ones used by the bosses and found in the dungeon, although there are some exceptions. Also, like Gilsh, bosses are not cards, so they will not drop the same type of creature if they are not part of their deck. Some stages also gift additional cards when they are completed for the first time, like Jewel Cards and other unique cards. Gilsh can revisit any cleared stage by choosing "Training" in the map menu while standing on the stage to obtain more cards.

All paths remain available, being possible to clear them in any order possible. In Ura Mode the turn limit is reduced to 500, Gilsh can only die once, and the player cannot use Jewel Cards that have a higher rank than the opponent's. Training on cleared stages is not affected by Ura Mode, remaining with the rules from normal mode. Once changed, the player cannot revert to normal mode, Kalia recommending to only do it when ready. Although the stages are reset, cutscenes will not repeat. The reward for completing all stages in Ura Mode is a copy of Kalia's card. Ura Mode can be enabled again after completion.
