The Gold Armor in The Blue Crystal Rod.

The Gold Armor (黄金の鎧 / ゴールドアーマー) is an armor set that changes courage into power. The god Anu granted the armor to Gilgamesh before he went to the Tower of Druaga, and it is his standard armor. In the games The Tower of Druaga and The Nightmare of Druaga: Fushigino Dungeon, Gil can later obtains stronger armors.

In the prologue of the game The Blue Crystal Rod, it's said that the appearance of Gil's armor changed to the Hyper Armor instead of him finding different armor parts in the tower. In The Blue Crystal Rod Gil can also make the armor disappear and appear by taking the sword from its sheath.

Hyper Armor

Hyper Armor (ハイパーアーマー) is the strongest equipment set from the original The Tower of Druaga, which consists of the Hyper Helmet, Hyper Armor, Hyper Gauntlet, Jet Boots, Hyper Shield, and Excalibur. Story-wise The Blue Crystal Rod notes that the Gold Armor changed its appearance instead of being separate parts found in the tower, the Hyper Armor can be considered to be the same as the Gold Armor, but the set is listed separatedly alongside other parts as gameplay-wise their names may vary depending of the version and game, and also have stronger or better parts. For example, the PC Engine version of The Tower of Druaga changed the names from some of them to Horned Helmet, Blue Line Armor, Blue Gauntlet, and Blue Line Shield, and it included the Rocket Boots, which are better than the Jet Boots.
