Babylim in The Blue Crystal Rod.
Babylim (バビリム Babirimu) is a recurring location from the Babylonian Castle Saga. It is the kingdom where Gilgamesh and Ki live.
Babylim is the central hub from the games The Blue Crystal Rod and The Nightmare of Druaga: Fushigino Dungeon, and also appeared in Seme COM Dungeon: Drururuaga and The Tower of Druaga: The Recovery of Babylim.
Description[]
Babylim is a small kingdom, centered on a walled city. The kingdom is split in two by the Euphrates River, and is connected by three bridges - one in the north and in the south outside the walls, and one in the center within the city.
In the northeast of the city is the temple of the goddess Ishtar. In the northwest is the royal palace.
The Blue Crystal Rod[]
In The Blue Crystal Rod, there are five places in Babylim that can be accessed by the player:
- Ishtar Temple (イシター神殿) - A temple dedicated to the goddess Ishtar, located northeast of the town. The player starts here, and in most story paths the temple is also the last place visited, from where Gil and Ki can reach Anu in the sky to return the Blue Crystal Rod. Besides the goddess Ishtar, the temple also has a guru named Terrazi (テラジ Teraji) that gives gameplay advice. The Ishtar Gate can be seen in front of the temple.
- Palace (宮殿) - Prince Gil's home, Babylim's royal palace, in the northwest of the town. Sargon takes care of the palace during Gil's absence. Like Ishtar's temple, the palace also has a large gate on the façade.
- Fortune Teller Hursag's Hall (占い師ハーサグの館) - The fortune teller Hursag gives advice on what the player can do to proceed.
- Mahal's House (マハールの家) - Mahal is an indian that likes quizzes, and he can increase Gil's stats, allowing the player to access specific story paths that require higher stats.
- Ziggurat (ジグラット) - A ziggurat that can be used to lower Gil's stats, which is required for specific story branches. The stat lowered depends on the answers to the four questions received inside the ziggurat. For example, saying "no" to all questions will decrease Luck, and "yes" to all will decrease Justice.
To the northwest of Babylim is the remains of the Tower of Druaga. To the north is the Lost Woods, where there is a route to the Stormy Mountain. To the east of the city is a large plain with the Narak Village, from which there is a route to the Labyrinth leading to the Blazing Cliff. To the west is Rajaf Village and the vast Desert of Death. In the southwest there is a ferry that can be ridden to the Sumer Empire. In the southeast is the Cave of Elburz.

The Babylim Kingdom is World 3, with stages 15 to 22. It connects with Worlds 2, 4, 5, and N.

The Tower of Druaga: The Recovery of Babylim[]
Babylim is similar to its appearance in The Blue Crystal Rod, but the gates leading to the Ishtar Temple and the Palace are closed, and the port is on the east side of the kingdom, while the Cave of Elburz is to the west. Babylim's surroundings were also expanded, having large plains to the northwest.
